The Consent by Minors to Medical Procedures 6 Act is amended by adding Section 6 as follows: 7 (410 ILCS 210/6 new) 8 Sec. 6. Parental notification of pregnancy. 9 (a) In this Section, "minor" means a person under 18 10 years of age who is not or has not been married or who has 11 not been emancipated under the Emancipation of Mature Minors 12 Act. 13 (b) Whenever a physician licensed to practice medicine 14 in all of its branches determines that a minor is pregnant, 15 the physician shall notify the minor's parent, guardian, or 16 other legal custodian of the fact of the minor's pregnancy. 17 (c) A physician's duty to give notification under this 18 Section does not affect the minor's ability to consent to 19 medical procedures under this Act or to receive medical 20 treatment.
