Amends the Airport Authorities Act, the Interstate
Airport Authorities Act, and the Kankakee River Valley Area
Airport Authority Act to provide that the State may not
assume control of an airport authority without the unanimous
consent of the members of the airport authority. Effective
immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning airport authorities.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Airport Authorities Act is amended by
5 adding Section 8.20 as follows:
6 (70 ILCS 5/8.20 new)
7 Sec. 8.20. Prohibition of State control. The State may
8 not assume control of an airport authority without the
9 unanimous consent of the airport authority board of
10 commissioners.
11 Section 10. The Interstate Airport Authorities Act is
12 amended by adding Section 10 as follows:

14 Sec. 10. Prohibition of State control. The State may
15 not assume control of an airport authority without the
16 unanimous consent of the members of the airport authority.
17 Section 15. The Kankakee River Valley Area Airport
18 Authority Act is amended by adding Section 7.5 as follows:
19 (70 ILCS 15/7.5 new)
20 Sec. 7.5. Prohibition of State control. The State may
21 not assume control of the airport authority without the
22 unanimous consent of the members of the airport authority.
23 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
24 becoming law.
