LRB9001964MWpc LRB9001964MWpc 1 AN ACT to amend the Election Code by changing Section 2 7-10.2. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Election Code is amended by changing 6 Section 7-10.2 as follows: 7 (10 ILCS 5/7-10.2) (from Ch. 46, par. 7-10.2) 8 Sec. 7-10.2. Names of candidates; petition or 9 certificate for nomination. In the designation of the name 10 of a candidate on a petition for nomination or certificate of 11 nomination the candidate's given name or names, initial or 12 initials, a nickname by which the candidate is commonly 13 known, or a combination thereof, may be used in addition to 14 the candidate's surname. No other designation such as a title 15 or degree, or nickname suggesting or implying possession of a 16 title, degree or professional status, similar information 17 may be used in connection with the candidate's surname, 18 except that the title "Mrs." may be used in the case of a 19 married woman. 20 (Source: P.A. 81-135.)
