1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1821
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 1821 on page 1, by
3 replacing line 8 with the following:
4 "Sec. 18-230. Rate increase or decrease factor.
5 (a) When a"; and
6 on page 1, by replacing line 19 with the following:
7 "made up the aggregate extension for the prior year.
8 (b) For"; and
9 on page 2, by replacing line 5 with the following:
10 "aggregate extension base.
11 With respect to referenda held on or after the effective
12 date of this amendatory Act of 1997, the provisions of this
13 subsection (b) apply only if the taxing district that holds
14 the referendum for a new rate or an increased rate includes
15 the following language, in at least 16 point bold face type,
16 in each public notice required by law and in the ballot
17 proposition:
18 If this referendum passes, the (new rate or
19 increased rate, as the case may be) will not be subject
20 to the Property Tax Extension Limitation Law, commonly
21 known as tax caps the rate increase factor shall be".
