LRB9005353EGfg LRB9005353EGfg 1 AN ACT to amend the Board of Higher Education Act by 2 changing Section 6. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Board of Higher Education Act is amended 6 by changing Section 6 as follows: 7 (110 ILCS 205/6) (from Ch. 144, par. 186) 8 Sec. 6. Master plan. The Board shall analyze the present 9 and future aims, needs and requirements of higher education 10 in the State of Illinois and prepare a master plan for the 11 development, expansion, integration, coordination and 12 efficient utilization of the facilities, curricula and 13 standards of higher education for the public institutions of 14 higher education in the areas of teaching, research and 15 public service. The Board shall formulate the master plan 16 and prepare and submit to the General Assembly and the 17 Governor drafts of proposed legislation to effectuate the 18 plan. The Board shall engage in a continuing study, an 19 analysis and evaluation of the master plan so developed and 20 it shall be its responsibility to recommend, from time to 21 time as it determines, amendments and modifications of any 22 master plan enacted by the General Assembly. In order to 23 facilitate articulation of courses of study among colleges 24 and universities, the plan shall include recommendations for 25 standardization of numbering for courses commonly offered by 26 both public community colleges and public universities in the 27 State. 28 (Source: Laws 1961, p. 3819.) 29 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 30 becoming law.
