The Liquor Control Act of 1934 is amended by 6 changing Section 6-19 as follows: 7 (235 ILCS 5/6-19) (from Ch. 43, par. 134) 8 Sec. 6-19.No person shall sell or furnish alcoholic9liquor at retail to any person on credit or on a pass book,10or order on a store, or in exchange for any goods, wares or11merchandise, or in payment for any services rendered; and if12any person shall extend credit for such purpose the debt13thereby attempted to be created shall not be recoverable at14law; provided thatNothing herein contained shall be 15 construed to prevent any club from permitting checks or 16 statements for alcoholic liquor to be signed by members or 17bona fideguests of members and charged to the account of 18 such members or guests in accordance with the by-laws of said 19 club.; and provided further thatNothing herein contained 20 shall be construed to prevent any hotel from permitting 21 checks or statements for liquor to be signed by regular 22 guests residing at said hotel and charged to the accounts of 23 said guests.; and provided further thatNothing herein shall 24 be construed to prevent payment by credit card or other 25 credit device for the purchase of liquorin the original26package or container for consumption off the premises. 27 (Source: P.A. 82-783.)
