1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2002
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 2002, by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
4 "Section 1. The following named amounts, or so much
5 thereof as may be necessary, respectively, for the objects
6 and purposes hereinafter named, are appropriated to the
7 Illinois Medical District Commission:
8 Payable from General Revenue Fund:
9 For Personal Services......................... $ 273,100
10 For Employee Retirement Contributions
11 Paid by Employer ............................ 14,200
12 For State Contributions to the State
13 Employees' Retirement System ................ 11,000
14 For State Contributions to
15 Social Security.............................. 21,000
16 For Contractual Services...................... 7,500
17 For Travel.................................... 1,200
18 For Commodities .............................. 800
19 For Telecommunications Services............... 4,600
20 For Operation of Chicago Technology
21 Park Research Center and for
22 Development and Operation of the
23 Chicago Technology Park within the

1 Medical Center District ..................... 201,400
2 Total $534,800
3 Section 2. The sum of $162,800, or so much thereof as
4 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue
5 Fund to the Illinois Medical District Commission for
6 acquisition of property, demolition and site improvements,
7 and related costs within the Medical Center District, City of
8 Chicago.
9 Section 3. The sum of $5,000,000, or so much thereof as
10 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Capital
11 Development Fund to the Illinois Medical District Commission
12 for acquisition of property, demolition and site
13 improvements, and related costs within the Medical Center
14 District, City of Chicago for Phase II of District
15 Development Initiative.
16 Section 4. The sum of $3,387,668, or so much thereof as
17 may be necessary and remains unexpended at the close of
18 business on June 30, 1997 from appropriations heretofore made
19 in Article 64, Section 3 of Public Act 89-0501, is
20 reappropriated from the Capital Development Fund to the
21 Illinois Medical District Commission for acquisition of
22 property, demolition and site improvements, and related costs
23 within the Medical Center District, City of Chicago for Phase
24 I of District Development Initiative.
25 Section 5. No contract shall be entered into or
26 obligation incurred for any expenditures from appropriations
27 in Sections 2, 3 and 4 of this Article until the purposes and
28 amounts have been approved in writing by the Governor.
29 Section 6. The sum of $267,000, or so much thereof as

1 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue
2 Fund to the Illinois Medical District Commission for the
3 deficit incurred due to an insufficient occupancy of the
4 Chicago Technology Park/Research Center.
5 Section 7. The sum of $117,000, or so much thereof as
6 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue
7 Fund to the Illinois Medical District Commission for the
8 establishment of a marketing program for the Chicago
9 Technology Park/Research Center.
10 Section 999. Effective date. This Act becomes effective
11 on July 1, 1997.".
