Provides that only pawnbrokers operating in a county with less than 5,000,000 inhabitants or in unincorporated Cook County shall be required to make the report required under the Act. Provides that pawnbrokers operating within unincorporated Cook County shall also be required to report to the Cook County Sheriff's Police Department. Effective immediately. LRB9004495LDmbA LRB9004495LDmbA 1 AN ACT to amend the Pawnbroker Regulation Act by changing 2 Section 7. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Pawnbroker Regulation Act is amended by 6 changing Section 7 as follows: 7 (205 ILCS 510/7) (from Ch. 17, par. 4657) 8 Sec. 7. It shall be the duty of every pawnbroker 9 operating in a county with less than 5,000,000 inhabitants 10 and in unincorporated Cook County to make out and deliver to 11 the sheriff of the county in which such pawnbroker does 12 business, on each day before the hours of 12 o'clock noon, a 13 legible and exact copy from the standard record book, as 14 required in Section 5 of this act, that lists all personal 15 property and other valuable things received on deposit or 16 purchased during the preceding day, together with the exact 17 time when received or purchased, and a description of the 18 person or person by whom left in pledge, or from whom the 19 same were purchased; provided, that in cities or towns having 20 25,000twenty-five thousandor more inhabitants, a copy of 21 thesuchreport shallat the same time alsobe delivered to 22 the superintendent of police or the chief police officer of 23 such city or town. 24 It shall be the duty of every pawnbroker operating within 25 unincorporated Cook County to make out and deliver to the 26 Cook County Sheriff's Police Department, on each day before 27 the hour of 12 o'clock noon, a legible and exact copy from 28 the standard record book, as required by Section 5 of this 29 Act, that lists all personal property and other valuable 30 things received on deposit or purchased during the preceding 31 day, together with the exact time when received or purchased, -2- LRB9004495LDmbA 1 and a description of the person by whom left in pledge. 2 (Source: P.A. 84-479.) 3 Section 99.
