Amends the Cook County Article of the Pension Code.
Changes the population limit for establishing a pension fund
under that Article from 500,000 to 3,000,000. Effective
immediately.

1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Pension Code by changing
2 Section 9-101.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by
6 changing Section 9-101 as follows:
7 (40 ILCS 5/9-101) (from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 9-101)
8 Sec. 9-101. Creation of fund. In each county of more
9 than 3,000,000 500,000 inhabitants a County Employees' and
10 Officers' Annuity and Benefit Fund shall be created, set
11 apart, maintained and administered, in the manner prescribed
12 in this Article, for the benefit of the employees and
13 officers herein designated and their beneficiaries.

15 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
16 becoming law.
