1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2168
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 2168 by replacing
3 the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT concerning physicians."; and
5 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
6 following:
7 "Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
8 Physician Nondiscrimination Act.
9 Section 5. Discrimination prohibited.
10 (a) It is the policy of this State that beyond the
11 scopes of practice designated in the Medical Practice Act of
12 1987, equal professional status and rights be accorded to all
13 physicians licensed under that Act.
14 (b) The laws of the State of Illinois shall not be
15 construed nor administered in a manner that discriminates
16 against any type or category of physician or against any
17 medical, osteopathic, or chiropractic college.
18 Section 10. Violation; remedy. A violation of this Act
19 may be enjoined in an action brought in the name of the
20 People of the State of Illinois in the county in which the

1 violation occurs by the Attorney General, the State's
2 Attorney, or any resident citizen. The injunction
3 proceedings are in addition to, and not in lieu of, any other
4 penalties and civil remedies.
5 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
6 becoming law.".
