The Unsolicited Credit Card Act of 1977 is 6 amended by changing Section 3 as follows: 7 (815 ILCS 150/3) (from Ch. 17, par. 6203) 8 Sec. 3. (a) No financial institution or other person or 9 corporation doing business in this State shall issue any 10 person a credit card, regardless of whether such credit card 11 is to be used for personal, family, household, agricultural, 12 business or commercial purposes, except (1) in response to a 13 request or application therefor; or (2) as a renewal of, or 14 in substitution for, an accepted credit card whether such 15 card is issued by the same or a successor card issuer. 16 (b) No financial institution or other person or 17 corporation doing business in this State shall issue any 18 person a credit card in which 2 or more persons are joint 19 holders of the credit card account unless the issuance is in 20 response to a request or application made jointly by all of 21 the joint holders of the account. 22 (Source: P.A. 80-531.) 23 Section 99.
