1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Pension Code by changing
2 Section 16-149.3.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by
6 changing Section 16-149.3 as follows:
7 (40 ILCS 5/16-149.3) (from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 16-149.3)
8 Sec. 16-149.3. Increase in disability retirement
9 annuity. An annuitant who retired on account of disability
10 prior to July 22, 1947 may have the amount of his or her
11 annual disability retirement annuity increased to $400 upon
12 contributing an amount equal to the lesser of: (1) one
13 month's current annuity, or (2) the difference between the
14 current annual annuity and $400.
15 The increase in disability retirement annuity provided
16 under this Section shall be effective as of the first month
17 following receipt of the required contribution from the
18 annuitant.
