90_HB2431 105 ILCS 127/Act title 105 ILCS 127/1 105 ILCS 127/2 Amends the School Reporting of Drug Violations Act. Changes title of the Act to the School Reporting of Felony and Drug Violations Act. Includes felony violations of the Criminal Code of 1961 in the reporting requirements (now only certain violations of the Cannabis Control Act and the Illinois Controlled Substances Act must be reported). Effective immediately. The School Reporting of Drug Violations Act 6 is amended by changing the title of the Act and Sections 1 7 and 2 as follows: 8 (105 ILCS 127/Act title) 9 AN ACT in relation to certain felony and drug offenses 10cannabis and controlled substances. 11 (105 ILCS 127/1) 12 Sec. 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the 13 School Reporting of Felony and Drug Violations Act. 14 (Source: P.A. 90-395, eff. 8-15-97.) 15 (105 ILCS 127/2) 16 Sec. 2. Duty of school administrators. It is the duty 17 of the principal of a public elementary or secondary school, 18 or his or her designee, and the chief administrative officer 19 of a private elementary or secondary school or a public or 20 private community college, college, or university, or his or 21 her designee, to report to the municipal police department or 22 office of the county sheriff of the municipality or county 23 where the school is located all felony violations of the 24 Criminal Code of 1961, violations of Section 5.2 of the 25 Cannabis Control Act and violations of Section 401 and 26 subsection (b) of Section 407 of the Illinois Controlled 27 Substances Act occurring in a school, on the real property 28 comprising any school, on a public way within 1,000 feet of a 29 school, or in any conveyance owned, leased, or contracted by -2- LRB9008016RCpc 1 a school to transport students to or from school or a school 2 related activity within 48 hours of becoming aware of the 3 incident. 4 (Source: P.A. 90-395, eff. 8-15-97.) 5 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 6 becoming law.
