Amends the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois.
Requires the Department of Professional Regulation to advise
applicants under the Illinois Dental Practice Act, the
Medical Practice Act of 1987, the Illinois Nursing Practice
Act of 1987, and the Podiatric Medical Practice Act of their
duty to report incidents of abuse and neglect of residents of
long term care facilities.

1 AN ACT to amend the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois
2 by adding Section 60.4.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is
6 amended by adding Section 60.4 as follows:
7 (20 ILCS 2105/60.4 new)
8 Sec. 60.4. Notice of mandatory reporting of elder abuse.
9 The Department shall include in the information provided to
10 applicants under the Illinois Dental Practice Act, the
11 Medical Practice Act of 1987, the Podiatric Medical Practice
12 Act, and to applicants for a license as a registered
13 professional nurse under the Illinois Nursing Act of 1987 a
14 notice advising those applicants of their duty to report
15 incidents of abuse or neglect with respect to a resident of a
16 long term facility under Section 4 of the Abused and
17 Neglected Long Term Care Facility Residents Reporting Act.
