Provides that the Director shall appoint one representative from each area agency on aging to serve as a member of the task force. Provides that the Director of the Department may also appoint not more than 17 other members. Provides that the task force shall report its findings and make recommendations to the General Assembly no later than January 1, 2000. Provides that the Section creating the task force is repealed on July 1, 2000. Effective immediately. LRB9008539MWpc LRB9008539MWpc 1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Act on the Aging by adding 2 Section 8.07. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Illinois Act on the Aging is amended by 6 adding Section 8.07 as follows: 7 (20 ILCS 105/8.07 new) 8 Sec. 8.07. Re-mapping planning and service areas; task 9 force. 10 (a) There is created within the Department on Aging a 11 task force to study the feasibility of re-mapping the 12 planning and service areas. The Director shall appoint one 13 representative from each area agency on aging to serve as a 14 member of the task force. The Director may also appoint not 15 more than 17 other members to the task force who shall be 16 persons interested in the planning, development, delivery, 17 and administration of services to senior citizens. Task 18 force members shall serve without compensation but shall be 19 reimbursed for their necessary expenses actually incurred in 20 performing their duties. 21 (b) The task force shall study the feasibility of 22 re-mapping the planning and service areas created under 23 Section 3.08 of this Act. The study shall include 24 population totals, a summary of the required services, and 25 the population needs of each planning and service area. The 26 task force shall report its findings and make 27 recommendations to the General Assembly no later than 28 January 1, 2000. 29 (c) This Section is repealed on July 1, 2000. 30 Section 99.
