      20 ILCS 105/7.05          from Ch. 23, par. 6107.05
          Amends the  Illinois  Act  on  the  Aging.   Deletes  the
      provision prohibiting citizen members of the Council on Aging
      from serving more than 2 consecutive terms.

 1        AN ACT to amend the Illinois Act on the Aging by changing
 2    Section 7.05.
 3        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:
 5        Section 5.  The Illinois Act on the Aging is  amended  by
 6    changing Section 7.05 as follows:
 7        (20 ILCS 105/7.05) (from Ch. 23, par. 6107.05)
 8        Sec.  7.05.  Citizen  members.   Of  the  citizen members
 9    first appointed, as designated by the Governor at the time of
10    each appointment, seven citizen members shall  serve  on  the
11    Council  for  a term of one year, seven citizen members shall
12    serve for a term of two years, and nine citizen members shall
13    serve for a term of three years. Any member appointed to fill
14    a vacancy occurring prior to the expiration of the  term  for
15    which  his  predecessor  was appointed shall be appointed for
16    the remainder of  such  term.  Upon  the  expiration  of  the
17    initial terms set forth herein, subsequent terms shall be for
18    a  period  of  three  years.  Members  shall  be eligible for
19    reappointment.  However, citizen members shall not serve more
20    than two consecutive terms.   This  amendatory  Act  of  1985
21    shall  not  apply to members of the Council holding office on
22    the effective date of this amendatory Act of 1985.
