1 AN ACT to amend the Anti-Pollution Bond Act by changing
2 Section 4a.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Anti-Pollution Bond Act is amended by
6 changing Section 4a as follows:
7 (30 ILCS 405/4a) (from Ch. 127, par. 454a)
8 Sec. 4a. The Environmental Protection Agency shall
9 distribute grants, subject to appropriation by the General
10 Assembly, and in accordance with Section 4 of this Act and in
11 accordance with a list of health hazards formulated by the
12 Department of Public Health, for the planning, financing, and
13 construction of municipal sewage treatment works in areas
14 where an actual or potential severe health hazard exists
15 because of a lack of adequate municipal sewage treatment
16 works.
17 By October 1 of each year, the Director of the Department
18 of Public Health shall comprise and submit to the Director of
19 the Environmental Protection Agency a list of areas in this
20 State where a health hazard exists because of inadequate
21 sewage treatment facilities. The Director of Public Health
22 shall rank the areas listed according to the seriousness of
23 the health hazard.
