Amends the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois.
Requires the Department of Public Health to establish a
service-education linkage program to improve the supply and
distribution of health care professionals throughout
Illinois. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT to amend the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois
2 by adding Section 55.90.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is
6 amended by adding Section 55.90 as follows:
7 (20 ILCS 2310/55.90 new)
8 Sec. 55.90. Service-education linkage program. The
9 Department of Public Health shall establish a program to
10 improve the supply and distribution of health care
11 professionals through service-education linkages in
12 underserved areas throughout Illinois. The program shall
13 consist of technical assistance and financial support
14 provided to an eligible Area Health Education Centers Program
15 established and operated in Illinois in accordance with
16 federal law in order to meet the purposes of this program.
17 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
18 becoming law.
