Makes a stylistic change in Section that requires the supervising authority of an offender who has been regularly employed and who is serving a sentence of periodic imprisonment to arrange for a continuation of employment. LRB9010297RCpc LRB9010297RCpc 1 AN ACT to amend the Unified Code of Corrections by 2 changing Section 5-7-4. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Unified Code of Corrections is amended by 6 changing Section 5-7-4 as follows: 7 (730 ILCS 5/5-7-4) (from Ch. 38, par. 1005-7-4) 8 Sec. 5-7-4. Continuation of Employment. 9 If the offender has been regularly employed, the 10 Department of Corrections, the sheriff, the superintendent of 11 the house of correction or workhouse, or the probation 12 officer shall arrange for a continuation of thesuch13 employment. If the offender has not been regularly employed, 14 every reasonable effort shall be made to secure employment 15 for such person, and any person for whom employment is 16 secured shall be paid a fair and reasonable wage and shall 17 not be required to work more than 8 hours per day, nor more 18 than 48 hours per week. 19 (Source: P.A. 77-2097.)
