1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Controlled Substances Act by
2 changing Section 506.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Controlled Substances Act is
6 amended by changing Section 506 as follows:
7 (720 ILCS 570/506) (from Ch. 56 1/2, par. 1506)
8 Sec. 506. Negation of exemption; burden of proof. It is
9 not necessary for the State to negate any exemption or
10 exception in this Act in any complaint, information,
11 indictment or other pleading or in any trial, hearing, or
12 other proceeding under this Act. The burden of proof of any
13 exemption or exception is upon the person claiming it.
