1 AN ACT to amend the Public Utilities Act by changing
2 Section 9-101.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by
6 changing Section 9-101 as follows:
7 (220 ILCS 5/9-101) (from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 9-101)
8 Sec. 9-101. Just and reasonable rates and charges. All
9 rates or other charges made, demanded or received by any
10 product or commodity furnished or to be furnished or for any
11 service rendered or to be rendered shall be just and
12 reasonable. Every unjust or unreasonable charge made,
13 demanded or received for such product or commodity or service
14 is hereby prohibited and declared unlawful. All rules and
15 regulations made by a public utility affecting or pertaining
16 to its charges to the public shall be just and reasonable.
