      20 ILCS 205/40.7          from Ch. 127, par. 40.7
          Amends  the  Civil  Administrative   Code   of   Illinois
      concerning  the Department of Agriculture.  Provides that the
      Department's designation of Centennial Farms  includes  those
      farms  owned  for  100  years or more by lineal or collateral
      (now lineal) descendants of the same family.

 1        AN ACT to amend the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois
 2    by changing Section 40.7.
 3        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:
 5        Section  5.  The Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is
 6    amended by changing Section 40.7 as follows:
 7        (20 ILCS 205/40.7) (from Ch. 127, par. 40.7)
 8        Sec. 40.7.  Promotional  activities.   To  encourage  and
 9    promote,  in  every  practicable  manner,  the  interests  of
10    agriculture,  including horticulture, the livestock industry,
11    dairying, cheese making, poultry, bee keeping, forestry,  the
12    production  of  wool,  and  all other allied industries.   In
13    furtherance of the duties set  forth  in  this  Section,  the
14    Department  may  establish  trust  funds and bank accounts in
15    adequately protected financial institutions  to  receive  and
16    disburse monies in connection with the conduct of food shows,
17    food   expositions,   trade   shows,  and  other  promotional
18    activities, and to sell at  cost,  to  qualified  applicants,
19    signs  designating farms, which have been owned for 100 years
20    or more by lineal  or  collateral  descendants  of  the  same
21    family,  as "Centennial Farms".  The Department shall provide
22    applications for such signs, which shall  be  submitted  with
23    the required fee.  "Centennial Farms" signs shall not contain
24    within  their  design, the name, picture or other likeness of
25    any elected public official or any appointed public official.
