1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3485
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 3485, AS AMENDED,
3 by replacing the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT to amend certain Acts in relation to workplace
5 injuries and diseases."; and
6 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
7 following:
8 "Section 5. The Workers' Compensation Act is amended by
9 adding Section 18.5 as follows:
10 (820 ILCS 305/18.5 new)
11 Sec. 18.5. Insurance fraud; employer's standing to seek
12 disposal of claim. After an employee has been convicted of an
13 offense involving a fraudulent workers' compensation claim,
14 an employer has standing before the Industrial Commission for
15 the sole purpose of filing and seeking disposal of the claim.
16 Section 10. The Workers' Occupational Diseases Act is
17 amended by adding Section 18.5 as follows:
18 (820 ILCS 310/18.5 new)
19 Sec. 18.5. Insurance fraud; employer's standing to seek
