1 AN ACT to amend the Criminal Code of 1961 by changing
2 Section 1-3.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by
6 changing Section 1-3 as follows:
7 (720 ILCS 5/1-3) (from Ch. 38, par. 1-3)
8 Sec. 1-3. Applicability of common law. No conduct
9 constitutes an offense unless the conduct it is described as
10 an offense in this Code or in another statute of this State.
11 However, this provision does not affect the power of a court
12 to punish for contempt or to employ any sanction authorized
13 by law for the enforcement of an order or civil judgment.
