Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Prohibits a person
from knowingly throwing, depositing, or releasing upon a
highway, including a toll highway, a live animal. Penalty is
a Class A misdemeanor.

1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Vehicle Code by adding
2 Section 11-1413.5.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by
6 adding Section 11-1413.5 as follows:
7 (625 ILCS 5/11-1413.5 new)
8 Sec. 11-1413.5. Animal abandonment.
9 (a) No person shall, knowingly throw, deposit, or
10 release upon any highway, including a toll highway, a live
11 animal.
12 (b) A person who violates this Section is guilty of a
13 Class A misdemeanor.
