making, soliciting, or accepting campaign contributions and
forming political committees.

1 AN ACT to amend the Election Code by adding Section
2 9-25.5.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Election Code is amended by adding
6 Section 9-25.5 as follows:
7 (10 ILCS 5/9-25.5 new)
8 Sec. 9-25.5. Inmate campaign activities.
9 (a) No inmate or group of inmates of a Department of
10 Corrections facility may make, solicit, or accept
11 contributions.
12 (b) No inmate or group of inmates of a Department of
13 Corrections facility may form a political committee.
