Requires the Department of Children and Family Services to track, with the written permission of its former wards, closed cases for up to 10 years. Provides for the random selection of cases to be tracked. Requires the tracking of certain data. Provides that the Bureau of Clinical Services shall have responsibility for the case tracking. Effective immediately. LRB9010732MWpc LRB9010732MWpc 1 AN ACT to amend to Children and Family Services Act by 2 adding Section 17a-13. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Children and Family Services Act by 6 adding Section 17a-13 as follows: 7 (20 ILCS 505/17a-13 new) 8 Sec. 17a-13. Tracking of former wards of the Department. 9 The Department shall track, with the written permission of 10 its former wards, closed cases for up to 10 years. The cases 11 to be tracked shall be randomly selected. No fewer than 75 12 closed cases shall be selected each year. One-half of the 13 selected cases shall be drawn from Cook County and the 14 balance shall be drawn from around the State. The data 15 tracked shall include educational status, marital status, 16 income status, and any further reports of abuse or neglect of 17 or by the former ward. The Bureau of Clinical Services shall 18 have responsibility for the case tracking. 19 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 20 becoming law.
