Amends the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois.
Provides that the Department of State Police shall operate an
Internet Pedophile Investigation Unit to monitor the Internet
and online services for pedophile and child
pornography-related activity and conduct investigations and
operations with the goal of identifying and apprehending
persons who are engaging or attempting to engage in child
pornography or other unlawful acts relating to minors.

1 AN ACT to amend the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois
2 by adding Section 55a-9.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is
6 amended by adding Section 55a-9 as follows:
7 (20 ILCS 2605/55a-9 new)
8 Sec. 55a-9. Internet Pedophile Investigation Unit. The
9 Department of State Police shall create and operate an
10 Internet Pedophile Investigation Unit. Personnel shall be
11 assigned to the Unit on a full-time basis. The Unit shall
12 monitor the Internet and online services for pedophile and
13 child pornography-related activity, and shall conduct
14 investigations and operations with the goal of identifying
15 and apprehending persons who are engaging or attempting to
16 engage in child pornography or other unlawful acts relating
17 to minors.
