1 HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The State of Illinois has a financial
3 responsibility to provide servics to its citizens; and
4 WHEREAS, The funding of many core State services, such as
5 education, children and seniors programs, and tax relief must
6 be adequately addressed; and
7 WHEREAS, Illinois lawmakers are the guardians of the
8 State's financial well-being; and
9 WHEREAS, The Illinois Compensation Review Board,
10 independent of the General Assembly, has recommended salary
11 increases and adjustments for State officials in a time of
12 establishing budget priorities; therefore be it
13 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
14 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE
15 SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that the General Assembly
16 disapproves in whole the Illinois Compensation Review Board's
17 April, 1998 recommendations for pay increases and
18 adjustments; and be it further
19 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
20 presented to the members of the Illinois Compensation Review
21 Board.
