1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are pleased to
3 recognize individuals who have excelled in the field of
4 athletics; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Roger
6 Westbrook was recently inducted into the Centralia Sports
7 Hall of Fame; and
8 WHEREAS, Roger Westbrook began his athletic achievements
9 in grade school when he played on the 1963 Southern Illinois
10 Championship Centralia Tigers Team; and
11 WHEREAS, During his exceptional Centralia High School
12 athletic career, Roger Westbrook lettered in basketball,
13 baseball, track, and football; and
14 WHEREAS, After graduating from CHS, Roger Westbrook went
15 on to play at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, where
16 he continued to win recognition for his extraordinary
17 prowess; and
18 WHEREAS, Roger Westbrook's achievements in the sports
19 arena will long be remembered; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
22 congratulate Roger Westbrook on being inducted into the
23 Centralia Sports Hall of Fame and commend him on his
24 outstanding performance as an all around sportsman; and be it
25 further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to Roger Westbrook.
