1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are happy to recognize
3 individuals who have made outstanding contributions in their
4 dedication to the education and well-being of the young
5 people of this State; and
6 WHEREAS, Ann Murray has spent twenty-one years as the
7 Orphan Annie Basketball Coach at Centralia High School; and
8 WHEREAS, Coach Murray has a 412-128 record with seven
9 South Seven Conference Championships, fifteen Class AA
10 Regional Championships; five Class AA Sectional
11 Championships, four trips to the Elite 8 State Finals, and a
12 4th place finish in 1977; and
13 WHEREAS, Coach Murray has been strongly supported
14 throughout her career by her husband Tony, a teacher at
15 Centralia High School, and her children, Jodi and Drew; and
16 WHEREAS, We join with the Centralia community and the
17 faculty, staff, and students of Centralia High School in
18 honoring Coach Ann Murray; therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
21 commend and thank Coach Ann Murray on her dedication to the
22 young people of this State and take great pleasure in the
23 hope that she will continue her service for many years to
24 come; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to Coach Ann Murray as an expression of our respect
27 and admiration.
