1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to recognize Peoria Manual High School
4 upon winning the State Class AA Basketball Championship; and
5 WHEREAS, Peoria Manual High School is located in Peoria,
6 Illinois; the team name is the Rams, and their school colors
7 are orange and black; and
8 WHEREAS, The Principal is S.D. Farkash; the school
9 Athletic Director is Mike Hampton; the Head Coach is Wayne
10 McClain; the Assistant Coaches are Chuck Westendorf, Tim
11 Kenny, and Fred Lee; and the Team Managers are Dana Davis,
12 Landon Humbles, and Brandon Lee; and
13 WHEREAS, The teams players are Jerral Sprattling, Jerron
14 Hobson, Creston Coleman, Drake Ford, Greg Andrews, Mark
15 Moore, Frank Williams, Alphonso Pollard, Marlon Brooks,
16 Sergio McClain, Robert Johnson, Seneca Davis, Alex Stephens,
17 Marcus Griffin, and Jerral Page; and
18 WHEREAS, Peoria Manual's basketball record for the
19 1996-1997 year was 31-1; the Rams went on to win the State
20 championship, making this their fourth straight championship
21 win; and
22 WHEREAS, Peoria Manual has been recognized as the number
23 one high school basketball team in the nation by USA Today;
24 therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
27 congratulate the Peoria Manual Rams on their unprecedented
28 fourth consecutive championship season, recognize them in
29 winning the State Class AA basketball championship, and wish
30 them continued success in the future; and be it further

2 presented to the Peoria Manual Rams Basketball team.
