1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are pleased to
3 recognize Illinois citizens who have distinguished themselves
4 in service to their community and this State; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Joan Mruk has
6 announced her retirement as Wayne Township Supervisor after
7 twenty-two years of public service to her community; and
8 WHEREAS, Since moving to DuPage County in 1959, Joan Mruk
9 has volunteered countless hours serving her community and has
10 been affiliated with the Parent Teachers Association, the Cub
11 Scouts, the Homeowners Association of Wayne Center, and the
12 Chicago Art Institute; she has assisted at the local public
13 library and is active in Republican politics; and
14 WHEREAS, A graduate of Indiana University, Joan Mruk is
15 past president of the Wayne Center, past chairwoman of the
16 DuPage County Republican Party, serves as chair of the
17 Township Officials of Illinois Legislative Committee, and
18 member of the Board of Directors of the Township Officials of
19 Illinois; and
20 WHEREAS, Supervisor Mruk has been supported throughout
21 her public and private life by her husband Walter; and
22 WHEREAS, Joan Mruk has served her community in numerous
23 ways and has won the respect and admiration of all those whom
24 she has served; therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
27 applaud and thank Joan Mruk as she retires as Wayne Township
28 Supervisor and extend our sincere best wishes to her for
29 health and happiness in the future; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

1 presented to her as an expression of our respect and esteem.
