1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are pleased to
3 recognize Illinois citizens who have distinguished themselves
4 in service to their community and this State; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Marilyn Craig
6 has announced her retirement as West Deerfield Township
7 Supervisor; and
8 WHEREAS, She started employment with the Township in
9 1973, and after serving eight years as Town Clerk, she became
10 Township Supervisor in 1981; and
11 WHEREAS, Mrs. Craig has served on numerous committees and
12 holds membership in various organizations, including the Lake
13 County Public Aid Committee, the League of Women Voters, the
14 Deerfield Senior Housing Task Force, the Highland Park
15 Welfare Council, the Deerfield Sesquicentennial Committee,
16 the Lake County Advisory Committee for Solid Waste Planning,
17 the 1 Deerfield Place Board of Directors, the Deerfield
18 United Way Board, the Lake County Public Aid Appeal Board,
19 the Deerfield Senior Housing Board, Lake County Women in
20 Government, and the Lake County Coalition for the Homeless
21 Board; she is also an Elder in the First Presbyterian Church;
22 and
23 WHEREAS, Marilyn Craig has distinguished herself in her
24 every endeavor and has demonstrated a remarkable ability to
25 lead men and women in a variety of civic and professional
26 organizations; and
27 WHEREAS, Her energetic leadership has earned her the
28 continuing respect of all who have had the privilege of
29 knowing her; therefore, be it
30 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
31 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

1 congratulate Marilyn Craig as she retires as West Deerfield
2 Township Supervisor after twenty-four years of dedicated
3 service and extend to her our sincere best wishes for the
4 future; and be it further
5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to her as an expression of our respect and esteem.
