1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are honored and
3 delighted to recognize a significant milestone in the history
4 of an outstanding institution that has contributed greatly to
5 the welfare of the people of this State; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that St. Mary's
7 Hospital and the Sisters, Servants of the Holy Heart of Mary,
8 are celebrating 100 years of service to the Kankakee area;
9 and
10 WHEREAS, St. Mary's Hospital shares the spirit of
11 family-centered care that characterizes the Sisters' hospital
12 ministry with its dedication to the promotion of family life
13 through health care and serving the sick and injured; and
14 WHEREAS, Throughout the past 100 years, St. Mary's
15 Hospital has undergone remarkable growth and change in both
16 the physical plant and in services to the community, and the
17 devotion and self-sacrificing commitment of the staff and
18 employees of St. Mary's Hospital has been an inspiration to
19 all; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
22 congratulate St. Mary's Hospital and the Servants of the Holy
23 Heart of Mary on 100 years of service; that we commend and
24 thank the Sisters for their commitment to serving the
25 community; and that we take great pleasure in the hope that
26 they will continue to provide their loving service for many
27 years to come; and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to the President of St. Mary's Hospital.
