1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the House are pleased to
3 recognize organizations that have made significant
4 contributions to the citizens of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that the Howard
6 Area Community Center in Rogers Park is celebrating its 30th
7 anniversary this year; and
8 WHEREAS, The Howard Area Community Center enriches the
9 community by providing necessary services to individuals and
10 families, dispensing useful information and teaching
11 life-improving skills; and
12 WHEREAS, The Center has provided programs and services
13 for emergency intervention, family stabilization, and
14 developmental growth; and
15 WHEREAS, Specific programs have included English language
16 classes, adult basic education, GED classes, a Head Start
17 Program, AIDS education and prevention, and immunization
18 projects; and
19 WHEREAS, The Center's commitment to the community through
20 service, information, and referral is an inspiration to all;
21 therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
24 congratulate and applaud the Howard Area Community Center on
25 its 30th anniversary and take great pleasure in the hope that
26 it will continue its service for many years to come; and be
27 it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to the Howard Area Community Center.
