1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are honored to
3 recognize significant milestones in the lives of the people
4 of this State; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. Joseph A.
6 Straka, Sr. of Lansing is celebrating the 90th anniversary of
7 his birth this year; and
8 WHEREAS, He was born on May 1, 1907 in Whiting, Indiana,
9 the son of Steven and Veronica Straka; and
10 WHEREAS, He was united in holy matrimony to Helen V.
11 Reppz on October 16, 1927 and is the loving father of
12 Kenneth, John, and Joseph, Jr. and the proud grandfather of 8
13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and
14 WHEREAS, A resident of Lansing for 17 years, Mr. Straka
15 is affiliated with St. Ann Catholic Church and has been a
16 member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers
17 for 60 years; and
18 WHEREAS, Throughout the past 90 years, Joseph Straka has
19 witnessed many historic experiences and changes in society,
20 and his memories and experiences create a legacy enjoyed by
21 his family and friends; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
24 congratulate Mr. Joseph A. Straka, Sr. on the occasion of his
25 90th birthday and extend our sincere best wishes to him for
26 the future; and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to him as an expression of our respect and esteem.
