1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Kent N. Mittelberg of Decatur, Illinois is
3 retiring from the Decatur City Council after serving two
4 four-year terms; and
5 WHEREAS, Kent is originally from Quincy, Illinois; Kent
6 has resided in Decatur for over 35 years, and is currently
7 serving his second term on the Decatur City Council; and
8 WHEREAS, Kent Mittelberg is a graduate of State
9 University of Iowa, where he received a Bachelor of Science
10 degree in Chemical Engineering in 1959; in 1961 Kent received
11 a Masters in Business Administration degree from the Wharton
12 School of Finance, at the University of Pennsylvania; in 1988
13 Kent Mittelberg retired from A.E. Staley Manufacturing
14 Company where he was Vice President of Food and Specialty
15 Projects; and
16 WHEREAS, Kent is active within the community of Decatur,
17 serving as a member of the Decatur Macon County Opportunities
18 Corporation, Community Investment Corporation, Golden K
19 Kiwanis, and Executive Committee of the Small Business
20 Council Decatur Chamber of Commerce; in addition, Kent served
21 as Chairman of the Public Building Commission; therefore, be
22 it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
25 commend Kent N. Mittelberg of Decatur, Illinois for his years
26 of dedicated service to the citizens of his city; and wish
27 him, along with his wife Mary, a great future; and be it
28 further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to Kent N. Mittelberg of Decatur, Illinois.
