90_HR0128 LRB9005618KBkb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The highest award the National Council of the 3 Boy Scouts of America can bestow upon a scout is that of 4 Eagle Scout; and 5 WHEREAS, Matthew Anthony Chap of Boy Scout Troop 596 will 6 receive the Eagle Scout Award at a Court of Honor to be held 7 on April 27, 1997, at Mt. Zion Church; and 8 WHEREAS, Matthew Chap and his longtime friend Scott 9 Frederick Biedess will become Eagle Scouts together; they 10 will receive this honor at the first double Eagle Scout Court 11 of Honor the troop has ever held; and 12 WHEREAS, In order to qualify as an Eagle Scout, a young 13 man must demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership, a 14 willingness to be of help to others, and superior skills in 15 camping, lifesaving, and first aid; and 16 WHEREAS, In earning this high rank, Matthew Anthony Chap 17 joins an elite and honorable fraternity of achievers that 18 counts among its members an extraordinary number of this 19 nation's great leaders in business, government, education, 20 and other sectors of society; and 21 WHEREAS, The achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout 22 reflects favorably upon the recipient, his justly proud 23 family, his scoutmaster, and his fellow scouts; therefore, be 24 it 25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 26 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 27 join his family and friends in congratulating Matthew Anthony 28 Chap on attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and commend 29 him for the unswerving dedication to excellence that is the 30 hallmark of the Eagle Scout; and be it further -2- LRB9005618KBkb 1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 2 presented to Eagle Scout Matthew Anthony Chap with our 3 respect and best regards.
