90_HR0131 LRB9005626CBcb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are pleased to 3 recognize the achievements of the young people of Illinois; 4 and 5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Jamie Beno of 6 Lansing is one of eight winners in the national "Take Our 7 Daughters to Work Day" essay contest sponsored by the Ms. 8 Foundation; the winners are paired with celebrity role models 9 and accompany them in their daily routine; and 10 WHEREAS, Jamie Beno will accompany Department of Health 11 and Human Services Secretary Donna Shalala at the nation's 12 Capitol; and 13 WHEREAS, Ms. Beno, a 14-year old eighth grade student at 14 Memorial Junior High, wrote her essay about her personal role 15 model, her mother Linda, a single parent who holds two jobs 16 and maintains a close relationship with her daughter, helping 17 her to develop self-confidence and self-esteem; and 18 WHEREAS, Her mother and her teachers can indeed be proud 19 of this young woman and her notable accomplishment; 20 therefore, be it 21 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 22 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 23 congratulate Jamie Beno on winning the "Take Our Daughters to 24 Work Day" essay contest and extend our sincere wish to her 25 for continued success in her future; and be it further 26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 27 presented to Jamie Beno as an expression of our respect and 28 esteem.
