1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are proud to recognize
3 individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the
4 citizens of this State; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Donald V.
6 Versen, Sr., President and Chief Operating Officer of the
7 Columbia National Bank of Chicago, is the 1997 Recipient of
8 the Good Scout Award; and
9 WHEREAS, The Good Scout Award is presented to individuals
10 who have distinguished themselves through community service,
11 leadership, and personal example; and
12 WHEREAS, A boy scout as a lad, Donald Versen was Chairman
13 of a Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop at Divine Savior
14 Church in Norridge; he has been actively involved in the
15 growth of the Indian Boundary District for twenty years and
16 has served on the Steering Committee for the Good Scout
17 Benefit Dinners for several years; and
18 WHEREAS, Mr. Versen's outstanding contributions to his
19 community also include membership on the Board of Trustees of
20 Resurrection Health Care and Chairman of the Board's Finance
21 Committee; he is also on the Board of Directors for the
22 Resurrection Development Foundation; and
23 WHEREAS, Mr. Versen is active in national and
24 international affairs and was a member of the Partnership for
25 Peace delegation that accompanied President Clinton to
26 Warsaw, Poland; he also attended a Midwest Economic
27 Conference with the President and Vice President; and
28 WHEREAS, Donald Versen's legacy of community involvement
29 and civic concern will long inspire the citizens of this
30 State; therefore, be it

1 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
3 congratulate Donald Versen on receiving the Good Scout Award
4 and that we applaud his commitment to Scouting and to his
5 community and take great pleasure in the hope that he will
6 continue his service for many years to come; and be it
7 further
8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to him as an expression of our respect and esteem.
