1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, There are special moments in the life of a
3 married couple that give them a chance to reflect on their
4 lives together; and
5 WHEREAS, One such event is the occasion of a Golden
6 Wedding Anniversary; on Friday, May 9, 1997, the fiftieth
7 wedding anniversary of Edmund and Alyce Summers of Chicago,
8 Illinois will be celebrated; and
9 WHEREAS, Edmund and Alyce Summers were married on May 3,
10 1947; meeting before they were teenagers, Edmund and Alyce
11 can be considered childhood sweethearts; and
12 WHEREAS, Edmund Summers is a Veteran of World War II,
13 where he was decorated for his service in combat; Edmund
14 served in the United States Army as a Master Sergeant and was
15 a part of the European Campaign of 1944 and 1945; and
16 WHEREAS, Edmund and Alyce Summers are both lifelong
17 residents of Chicago; together they have been parishioners of
18 St. Tarcissus Catholic Church for fifty years; and
19 WHEREAS, Edmund and Alyce Summers are the proud parents
20 of three sons: Gregory and his wife Debra, and their two sons
21 Justin and Nathan; Mark and his wife Susan and their two
22 children Christopher and Mallory; and Robert and Antoinette
23 and their daughter Samantha; therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
26 congratulate Edmund and Alyce Summers on this special day in
27 their life together, and we further wish them continued
28 happiness as a family, and as a couple; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to Edmund and Alyce Summers along with best wishes.
