1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are honored to
3 recognize significant milestones in the lives of the citizens
4 of this State; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Terrence
6 William McGuffage of Chicago is graduating from the
7 University of Illinois College of Engineering with a degree
8 in environmental engineering; and
9 WHEREAS, Gifted in mathematics and science, Terrence
10 McGuffage placed in the top twenty percent of his class; and
11 WHEREAS, A native Chicagoan, he is the son of William and
12 Janet McGuffage and graduated from Marist High School in
13 1993, an honor student and Illinois State Scholar; and
14 WHEREAS, Terrence McGuffage was the recipient of many
15 awards and honors; he was the 1989 winner of the Math
16 Olympics, was selected to participate in the Instrumentation
17 and Materials Science Program at Argonne National Laboratory,
18 and qualified to take college level courses in 1993 as an
19 Advanced Placement Scholar; and
20 WHEREAS, His future plans include a career in law; and
21 WHEREAS, Terrence McGuffage's talents and contributions
22 to his community have earned him the respect of all who have
23 had the privilege of knowing him; therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
26 congratulate Terrence William McGuffage on his graduation
27 from the University of Illinois College of Engineering and
28 extend our most sincere best wishes to him for continued
29 success in the future; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
