1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of this Body that
3 Terrence William McGuffage of Chicago is graduating from the
4 University of Illinois College of Engineering with a degree
5 in environmental engineering; and
6 WHEREAS, Gifted in mathematics and science, Terry
7 McGuffage placed in the top twenty percent of his class; his
8 future plans include graduate work in environmental
9 engineering and law school; and
10 WHEREAS, A native Chicagoan, he is the son of William and
11 Janet McGuffage and graduated from Marist High School in
12 1993, an honor student and Illinois State Scholar; and
13 WHEREAS, Terry McGuffage was the recipient of many awards
14 and honors; he was a 1989 winner of the Math Olympics, was
15 selected to participate in the Instrumentation and Materials
16 Science Program at Argonne National Laboratory, and qualified
17 to take college level courses in 1993 as an Advanced
18 Placement Scholar; and
19 WHEREAS, Terry McGuffage's talents and contributions to
20 his community have earned him the respect of all who have had
21 the privilege of knowing him; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
24 congratulate Terrence William McGuffage on his graduation
25 from the University of Illinois College of Engineering and
26 extend our most sincere best wishes to him for continued
27 success in the future; and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to him as an expression of our respect and esteem.
