1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Dignity Chicago provides spiritual support and
3 succor for gay and lesbian Catholics, their families, and
4 their friends throughout the Greater Chicago area; and
5 WHEREAS, Dignity Chicago provides a full program of
6 workshops, retreats, and education for gay and lesbian
7 Catholics, their families, and friends in the Greater Chicago
8 area; and
9 WHEREAS, Dignity Chicago advocates for the full
10 participation of gay and lesbian Catholics within the Church;
11 and
12 WHEREAS, Dignity Chicago stands in staunch support of
13 equity and justice for gay and lesbian citizens both within
14 the Catholic Church and in society; and
15 WHEREAS, Dignity Chicago weekly celebrates mass for gay
16 and lesbian Catholics, their families, and their friends from
17 throughout the Greater Chicago area; and
18 WHEREAS, Dignity Chicago has been a resource and a refuge
19 for gay and lesbian Catholics, their families, and their
20 friends since 1992; and
21 WHEREAS, Dignity Chicago formally celebrates its 25th
22 anniversary on May 17, 1997; therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
25 congratulate Dignity Chicago on 25 years of outstanding
26 service; and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to Dignity Chicago.
