90_HR0191 LRB9005774CBcb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are proud to recognize 3 the gallantry and patriotism of those individuals in our 4 Armed Forces that have devoted their lives to preserving the 5 freedom and peace of our country; and 6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Master Chief 7 Timothy Fonderoli of Arlington has announced his retirement 8 after more than twenty years of service with the United 9 States Navy; and 10 WHEREAS, Born on December 2, 1958, the son of Leo and 11 Dolores Fonderoli, he enlisted in the Navy after graduation 12 from high school in May of 1976; and 13 WHEREAS, He served aboard the USS MORTON, homedocked at 14 Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, as a radioman until December of 1979 15 when he reenlisted for recruiting duty; since that time he 16 has been based at several locations and rose through the 17 ranks; he was advanced to Master Chief Navy Counselor in 18 March of 1995; and 19 WHEREAS, Master Chief Fonderoli wears the Navy 20 Commendation Medal with Gold Star, the Navy Achievement Medal 21 with 2 Gold Stars, the Presidential Meritorious Unit 22 Commendation Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars, the Coast Guard Unit 23 Commendation Medal with a Silver "O", the Good Conduct Medal 24 with 3 Bronze Stars, the National Defense Service Medal, the 25 Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Sea Service and 26 Recruiting Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars, and Expert Rifle and 27 Pistol Ribbons; and 28 WHEREAS, Master Chief Fonderoli has been lovingly 29 supported throughout his career by his wife, Lynda, and his 30 children, Stephanie and Joseph; therefore, be it 31 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE -2- LRB9005774CBcb 1 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 2 congratulate and commend Master Chief Timothy Fonderoli on 3 his retirement after over twenty years of service with the 4 United States Navy and extend to him our sincere wish for 5 continued success in his future endeavors; and be it further 6 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 7 presented to him as an expression of our esteem.
