90_HR0211 LRB9005902KBkb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives are honored to mark important times in the 4 lives of the citizens of Illinois; and 5 WHEREAS, Elaine H. Clewis, or "Sis", will be celebrating 6 her sixty-fifth birthday on July 8, 1997; and 7 WHEREAS, Mrs. Clewis has been affectionately called "Sis" 8 her whole life by her family and friends; and 9 WHEREAS, Sis Clewis was born July 8, 1932; her parents 10 were Harry and Marion Helminski; Mrs. Clewis attended Casimir 11 Pulaski Grammar School, where she received the "Most 12 Outstanding Female Athlete Award", and Tuley High School; and 13 WHEREAS, Mrs. Clewis married Richard S. Clewis on August 14 13, 1955; her husband served as an Illinois State Senator 15 from the 17th District and an Alderman from the 45th Ward in 16 Chicago; together they raised Gail, Nancy, and Scott; and 17 WHEREAS, Elaine Clewis is the proud grandmother of Daniel 18 Actaboski, Dawn Actaboski, Robyn Anthony, and Ryan Anthony; 19 and 20 WHEREAS, Elaine Clewis is a lifelong resident of Chicago 21 and has been a part of the Portage Park neighborhood for 22 thirty-nine years; she is a devoted and lifelong fan of the 23 Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls, and Chicago Bears; she has been 24 a member of St. Bartholomew Parish for thirty-nine years; she 25 is currently employed with the Cook County Assessor's Office 26 in the Seniors/Homeowners Department; and 27 WHEREAS, Elaine Clewis was a supervisor with Wilson 28 Sporting Goods from 1950 to 1955; while serving with Wilson 29 she worked with legendary athletes like Ted Williams, Sam 30 Sneed, Arnold Palmer, Patti Berg, and Babe Didrickson; -2- LRB9005902KBkb 1 therefore, be it 2 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 3 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 4 honor Elaine Clewis on her sixty-fifth birthday; and be it 5 further 6 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 7 presented to Elaine "Sis" Clewis on her sixty-fifth birthday.
