1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives wish to
3 send their deepest sympathy to the family and friends of
4 Dhafer Zahdan; and
5 WHEREAS, Dhafer Zahdan was born into this world on March
6 3, 1967 and passed into eternity on October 5, 1997; and
7 WHEREAS, Dhafer was a devoted son to Dawud and Andalib
8 Zahdan, and loving brother to Ziyadeh and Moeen Zahdan and
9 Fatima Abudayyeh; and
10 WHEREAS, Dhafer and his wife Araw were wed on October 25,
11 1987, and were blessed with two beautiful children, Andalib
12 and Dawud; and
13 WHEREAS, Dhafer dedicated himself to his wife and
14 children; and
15 WHEREAS, Dhafer's gentle and generous spirit inspired
16 those who knew and worked with him; and
17 WHEREAS, Dhafer touched the lives of thousands of
18 ordinary citizens as a concerned citizen and neighbor; and
19 WHEREAS, Dhafer, as an immigrant to this country,
20 exemplified the spirit of good citizenship and concern for
21 others upon which the United States of America was built; and
22 WHEREAS, Dhafer's life was dedicated to the service of
23 his God, his family, and his community; and
24 WHEREAS, The citizens of the West Lawn, the City of
25 Chicago, and the State of Illinois greatly miss Dhafer;
26 therefore, be it
27 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
28 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
29 convey our condolences to the Zahdan family and offer our

1 prayers for Dhafer and his family at this difficult time; and
2 be it further
3 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to the Zahdan family.
