 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION
 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives wish to congratulate the Skokie Park District
 4    on  winning  the  National Gold Medal Award for excellence in
 5    recreation management; and
 6        WHEREAS, The Skokie Park District received the medal from
 7    the National Parks and Recreation Association (NPRA) and  the
 8    National  Sporting Goods Association; the medal was presented
 9    to  Park  District  administrators  and   commissioners   who
10    attended the NPRA conference in Salt Lake City; and
11        WHEREAS,  Skokie  received  the  medal  in  the 50,000 to
12    100,000 population division; in  becoming  one  of  the  four
13    finalists   out   of  thirty  communities  that  entered  the
14    competition,  Skokie  produced  a  video  that   showed   the
15    district's   multi-year  expansion  and  renovation  program;
16    judges were also provided with information on the  district's
17    financial  planning  system,  its  improvements  in  district
18    programming,   and   figures  showing  increases  in  program
19    participation; and
20        WHEREAS, Park District officials also received  an  award
21    for  best program brochure produced by a park district and an
22    award for best overall marketing and  communications  program
23    while attending the NPRA conference; therefore, be it
24        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
25    NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that  we
26    congratulate  the  Skokie Park District on winning awards for
27    doing what they do best,  serving  the  community;  may  they
28    continue  to  excel  in recreation management, and in serving
29    the City of Skokie; and be it further
30        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
31    presented to the Skokie Park District.
