1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, On December 10, 1917 the Peoria Sheet Metal and
3 Roofing Contractors formed the first area contractor
4 organization and in 1948 this group became an affiliated
5 chapter of Sheet Metal Air-Conditioning Contractors National
6 Association; and
7 WHEREAS, The 50th Anniversary Luncheon will be held on
8 Wednesday, April 1, at the Holiday Inn Brandywine in Peoria;
9 Linda L. Baker, President of the Central Illinois SMACNA,
10 will be present along with National Past President R. Dean
11 Steward of Colorado Springs; and
12 WHEREAS, The Central Illinois Chapter of SMACNA Located
13 in Peoria represents approximately 80 contractor firms and
14 associate members in Bureau, Fulton, LaSalle, Marshall,
15 McLean, Peoria, Putnam, Stark, Tazewell, and Woodford
16 Counties; and
17 WHEREAS, SMACNA is an international trade association
18 providing technical manuals, construction standards,
19 educational services, and business opportunities for its
20 members and others in the building industry; and
21 WHEREAS, Central Illinois SMACNA has brought 50 years of
22 service to generations of Central Illinois contractors and is
23 growing to meet the needs of the sheet metal industry;
24 therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
27 take this opportunity to extend to the Central Illinois
28 Chapter of SMACNA congratulations on 50 years with the
29 national SMACNA; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to Linda L. Baker, President of the Central
